Research at the University of Manchester in the 1970s showed that
cantilever bras could relieve breast pain. A bra designed
to ensure that 75% of the weight of the breasts was distributed
across the back (and not through the shoulders) was individually
fitted to women who had breast pain. The majority of women found
that this either cured or alleviated pain and discomfort.
More recent research at the University Hospital of Wales has suggested
that wearing inappropriately styled bras may actually increase
the amount pain experienced. They found that if patients did not
wear their normal fashion bras, then the level and frequency of
pain decreased.

Bra-Doctor individually makes for each woman - to ensure the
fit is right and the support is optimal. All our bras are designed
to the cantilever system and distribute the weight of the breasts
across the back (not the shoulders) to support them, not compress
them back onto the body.
